§ 7-120. Enforcement of zoning ordinance.

(a)

If the codes enforcement department is charged with enforcement of the zoning ordinance, then no permit for alteration, repair, or construction of any building or structure shall be issued unless the plans and specifications show that the building or structure, and its proposed use, will be in compliance with applicable provisions of any zoning ordinance.

(b)

If the codes enforcement department is not charged with enforcement of the zoning ordinance, then no permit for alteration, repair or construction of any building or structure shall be issued until a zoning permit has first been issued by the appropriate official charged with enforcement of the zoning ordinance.
