§ 19-27. Purpose and statutory authority.

(a)

The purpose of this article is to regulate the generation, storage, collection, transportation, separation, treatment, processing, recycling, recovery and disposal of solid waste in the county. This article is adopted pursuant to the authority contained in G.S. 153A-121, 153A-132.1, 153A-136, and 130A-294.

(b)

This article shall govern the unincorporated areas of the county and the municipal jurisdictions that have requested to be included within the geographic area designated pursuant to G.S. 130A-294, and which have adopted this article within the municipal corporate limits pursuant to G.S. 153A-122.
